The World Series of Poker is under two weeks away and during their annual press call some interesting changes and rules were announced. Among the most interesting announcement was one, which stated that players will be allowed to play on their mobile devices and laptops while playing in WSOP events.
In 2013 during the WSOP there was just one real money poker website in action in the state of Nevada, Ultimate Poker. Because of this real money online play within the Rio was not allowed, but because WSOP.com is up and running right now the brand looks to get maximum exposure for their online site.
In order to further promote online play there will be a, so called, ‘Grind Room’ at the Rio this year. This room will be fully equipped with wifi, computers and power outlets to give everyone a chance to play on WSOP.com. Customer support will be on site and both deposits and withdrawals can be made at the cage inside the Rio.
Besides the usual tournaments and cash games WSOP.com will offer a big slate of satellites for their live events. On June 1st the WSOP.com’s Online Championship Series will kick off with $650,000 in guaranteed prize money. The events range from a $55 No Limit Hold’em event with rebuys up to the $215 No Limit Hold’em Main Event with a $200,000 guarantee.
