The first World Poker Tour 500 to be held in California will take place in Los Angeles between May 21 and May 31. It will be hosted by the Gardens Casino and will feature a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million.
The tournament will include a total of 14 starting flights with a buy-in of $565. Each of these will play down to 8% of its player field so that remaining players will qualify for the final table action on May 31.
The Action Clock, courtesy of Protection Poker, will be put into action oce the field drops to 54 participants on Day 2 of the tournament. Players will also be entitled to re-entries during the first eight stages of the WPT500. Last but not least, the organizers have opted for using the “best stack forward” format which would allow players to compete in multiple Day 1s so as to collect bigger chip stacks for the second day.
The World Poker Tour is one of the leading providers of professional poker events on a global scale, running since 2002 and being broadcast in more than 150 countries.
