World Championship of Online Poker Announced by Pokerstars

The World Championship of Online Poker  (WCOOP) is a yearly event hosted by the world’s biggest poker site, Pokerstars. Pokerstars now announced the schedule and prize pool for this year’s WCOOP events, which will take place from September 7th to the 28th, with 66 events spread across the days and a massive $40 million in guaranteed prize money.

The main event of the WCOOP will be a $10 million, two-day tournament which will take place on September 28-29. Pokerstars will show a complete cards-down webcast of the final table, creating a unique viewing experience for railbirds, as the commentary team from the EPT live tournaments, James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton, will be commenting on the action.

The 66 different WCOOP events will spread over a variety of different poker games and formats, ensuring that there’s a game and format that suits all individual players. Some of the bigger tournaments includes:

  • WCOOP-09: $1,050 NL Hold’em [Super Tuesday SE]
  • WCOOP-18: $320 NL Hold’em, [Turbo, Zoom]
  • WCOOP-23: $10,300 NL Hold’em [8-Max, Re-Entry, High Roller]
  • WCOOP-44: $10,300 NLHE [High Roller, Heads-Up]
  • WCOOP-63: $2,100 HORSE
  • WCOOP-65: $10,300 8-Game [High Roller, Re-Entry]

There will also be progressive super knockout events, Ante Up events, Big Antes events, 4-max and 6-max shootouts and much more. Pokerstars will be hosting plenty of satellites to the events, starting from $1 or 1 FPP.
