The Asian Poker Tour (APT) is hosting the APT Poker Room Manila at the Winford Hotel and Casino. The room features four APT tailor-made poker tables and will hold its grand opening on April 21.
The inaugural event will be a two-day tournament with a US$4,000 guaranteed prize pool to feed into the APT Championships Philippines games.
According to Raymund Gamier, operations manager of the APT Poker Room, the focus will be on cash games as well as putting together a loyal local customer base.
Several more events under the aegis fo the APT Poker Room Manila are foreseen until the end of the year. Those would mostly be weekend series featuring affordable buy-ins.
The APT led by CEO Jeff Mann was established in 2008. It has so far visited Macau, South Korea, Cambodia, India, Australia, London and Mauritius.
The chairman and CEO of the Winford Hotel and Casino, Alfonso Reyno, commented that the new APT Poker Room would serve Manila’s districts of Chinatown, Quezon City, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Malabon, Mecauayan and Navotas.
