Thomas Alcorn has won the 2019 World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Southern Indiana Main Event to collect $117,322. Alcorn outlasted the field 357 entries in the four-day event to bag the top-prize and earn entry to the 2020 WSOPC Global Championship.
“Even though I know the new strategy is very good, I do way less bluffing than the new style of poker. Everyone is so used to people betting their bluffs that I can get called when I am betting my monsters.” Alcorn stated to the reporters when he was asked how he managed to win this title. “The good players realize I am doing this, and they won’t bluff me, so I mess up their whole game.”
Last month Alcorn finished third at the WSOPC Harrah’s Cherokee Main Event for $126,188. Then he finished 11th last week at the WSOPC Seminole Coconut Creek Main Event for $14,537 and along with on 26th place at WSOPC Ameristar St. Charles Main Event for $4,006.
After winning the tournament, Alcorn responded “Wahooo!” Followed by “a little bit of Yee-hah.”
“I was playing little side games once every few months, and Cherokee. I decided to get into the World Series there, and after I came in third, I took $20,000 of that money and said I was gonna follow the Circuit around. I promised my mom I wouldn’t dig into my winnings, just the $20,000.”
