Pokerstars, the world’s biggest poker site, announced the details of their Sunday Million 9th Anniversary tournament today. The tournament will be taking place on March 8th at 14.30 ET and will remain with its regular $215 buy-in, but feature a massive $9,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The Sunday Million has always been one of the biggest and most anticipated tournaments, running every Sunday for nine years and having found some of the biggest tournament talent’s we have online. The huge prize pool every week leads many players to play it and thus provide the single biggest weekly tournament in the world.

The biggest Sunday Million so far was in 2011 for the 5th anniversary, where a total of 59,128 players competed against each other for their share of the $11,825,600 prize pool. The tournament was won by Luke “Bdbeatslayer” Vrabel, who won $670,000 and a Lamborghini Gallardo on top.

Team PokerStars Pro Online, Lex Veldhuis, said: “There aren’t too many one-off tournaments that are an absolute ‘must-play’, but the Sunday Million Anniversary event is for sure. Winning a $1m+ first prize from just $215 – or even less if you satellite in – is an unreal opportunity. I’ll be taking a shot as usual and hoping I can bink a huge score.”

If you want to play the 9th anniversary Sunday Million, then you can either buy-in directly for $215 or try and qualify for the tournament through the many different satellites that are now available for players.
