A representative of 888Poker, while posting a reply to a question on the popular poker forum 2+2, revealed that the company was making the fast-fold version of its game available to certain players. The quote from 2+2 reads: "The SNAP poker version is now being released to some new members that join 888poker; so only a limited amount of players currently have it."
Snap Poker was released for beta testing a bit over a month ago and the company decided to minimize risk of technical failure by allowing only a $0.01/$0.02 table to run the fast-fold game while making Snap available only via a beta poker client.
Now, it seems 888 feels confident enough to widen the release of Snap and it is including the fast-fold version of the game in selected new poker client installations. They have also decided to widen the variety of stakes at which players can try Snap. The usual $0.01/$0.02 table will remain and in addition there will be a $0.05/$0.10 game and a $0.12/$0.25 PLO game.
Fast-fold games became very popular in the last year with many poker rooms and networks releasing their own versions of the game. 888Poker got into the rush too late, becoming the last of the rooms to offer fast-fold poker. Despite this, 888Poker has seen its numbers grow steadily over the last year and it is now the fastest growing poker room according to PokerScout, where it boasts the third place in cash games traffic.
