Senator Reid hopeless of new federal gambling bill

Harry Reid, Senator of Nevada, fears that the new federal gambling bill proposed by Republican Peter King, is menacing to online poker and that the latest efforts in legalizing the activity might take a step back. The bill suggests to legalize online gambling in the United States but not for sports betting.

It was announced in an interview that Reid is not pleased nor confident with the bill because the fact of including other types of casino games makes its chances hopeless. The point is that previous and strict pro-online poker bills only may have had a chance because the ones against online gambling were willing to commit if poker’s exclusivity remained.

In King’s latest proposal, online poker has put together with other casino games, meaning gambling opponents won’t give their support.
