Pokerstars’ SCOOP tournament series has come to an end and once again the biggest poker site in the world has managed to break several records and change their players life. The most anticipated tournament of the series was the Main Event “High”, where players paid $10,300 to participate.
This tournament was won by the Russian player Ivan “vandir4rek” Soshnikov, who is no stranger to winning big tournaments as he won the EPT10 Prague High Roller last December for more than $500,000. Soshnikov made a deal three handed on the final table of the SCOOP Main Event, where he ensured that he got $1,048,000 for his first place, while the UK players “Se7enTr3y” and “Better C4ll” took respectively $860,000 and $890,000.
The Medium an d Low versions of the Main Event were also finished this Monday, were the Medium version was won by “LexaLucky666” from Belarus with a first prize of $635,379 while the low version was won by Ari “BodogAri” Engel for a first prize of $187,669.27 after splitting four ways.
In total this year’s SCOOP series broke a massive record for having the biggest overall prize pools, breaking last year’s numbers of $75,585,435.05 with $81.222.158.66 paid out in prizes this year, making the difference almost $6 million.
Country wise it was a good year for the Canadians as they were the one’s taking down most tournaments with 18 titles in total. Germany and the United Kingdom came on a shared close second place, having a total of 15 victories each.
