PokerStars ropes in Maria Konnikova as their ambassador

The best-selling author, Maria Konnikova has been roped in as the brand ambassador of PokerStars.

"I am very excited to join the PokerStars team. It is really wonderful to be associated with the PokerStars unofficially for the last one year and now I honoured to join the PokerStars team officially," she said while expressing her happiness.

"I had never thought that poker would become such a big part of my life. Now joining PokerStars would offer me an incredible opportunity to take my game to a next level and represent a brand that I admire greatly," she added.

In 2017, Maria Konnikova started playing live poker tournaments while researching for her book The Biggest Bluff.

She developed her interest in poker during that time and went on to winning a $1,650 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em National at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) for $84,600.

She finished 42nd in the PCA Main event and also finished 2/152 in the HKD 20,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em event at the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) in Macau for $57,519.

 Maria Konnikova said that she likes to take up new challenges.
