PokerStars Hits The Bull’s Eye By Rescuing The PKR Stressed Players

Share

Following the financial crunch, the PKR.com had to shut down its operations on May 3, giving its players nightmares as they faced the prospect of losing all their money held in their accounts.

Despite the requirement of keeping players fund in segregated accounts by UK Gambling Commission, even this couldn’t bring any relief to the stressed customers. As the terms & conditions of PKR stated:

“In the case of UK customers, PKR retains all player funds in a segregated client funds account, separately from all other operating and corporate funds. This is in accordance with the Basic level of protection and as set out on the Gambling Commission’s website. In the case of insolvency, these funds would not be protected.”

Hence, the customers had no option than to accept peacefully yet another failed poker site. To this came an unexpected gesture by the world’s biggest online poker room, PokerStars. PokerStars announced it would refund all the money to PKR customers with no intention of reviving the site ever.

The kind gesture by PokerStars will not leave the 60,000 affected players just grateful for bailing them out but also bring them back to the website, who would be looking for an alternative site to play their favorite card game. The process of transactions would be a few clicks away for those who have a PokerStars account. The company though made it clear that it aims at making funds available for withdrawals without any obligations to register on their site.
