Poker pro arrested for casino fraud

Archie Karas, a professional poker player who alledgedly won over $40 million with a starting stake of $50 during a hot streak which lasted three years, was arrested for cheating and defrauding a California casino after marking cards at a Blackjack table.

He was arrested at his home in Las Vegas and will be deported to California to stand trial over a criminal complaint filed against him for ‘winning by fraudulent mans and cheating’.

If found guilty, Karas (who changed his name from Anargyros Karabourniotis) could be convicted and imprisoned for up to three years.
