PKR Launches Progressive Jackpot Tournaments

PKR, the world’s first real 3D poker room and one of the biggest sites in the world, announced today that they have integrated and launched a brand new tournament format. The new format is $6 buy-in jackpot tournaments where players can win a specific jackpot prize if they hit a specific hand during the tournament.

There’s seven different jackpot events, one every day of the week, who all have their own unique way of winning the jackpot. Friday’s jackpot for example is given to anyone who wins with a royal flush and the prizes can potentially be big, as all jackpots starts out at $1,000, but will increase with 20% of the buy-in from each tournament until it has been won.

On the ease or otherwise of winning a jackpot, Head of PR Dan Grant said, “Losing with quads or flopping a straight flush might seem unlikely but with tens of thousands of hands dealt in each tournament, these jackpots will be won fairly often, but they’ll also pay out some decent prizes. One jackpot was won on the very first night, so make of that what you will! Some of the seven jackpots are more difficult to win than others of course, and we expect one or two to reach five or even six figures before they are won. For a tournament with a buy-in of just $6, that’s pretty exciting.”
