Overlay in UKIPT forces Full Tilt Poker to pay €140K

It’s the first time that the UKIPT has an overlay and the first time in a while for Full Tilt Poker to sponsor a live tournament. However, the online poker room has been forced to add €140,000 to satisfy the €1 million guarantee as the turnout was lower than expected.

Despite the discouraging figures, the Main Event still drew 860 players with Alan Gold winning the first prize title and €187,494. The event is UK’s second largest overlay this year since the Nottingham card room Dusk Hill failed their €1 million guarantee forcing them to pay €589,000.
