New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement in its update yesterday did not address a transactional waiver needed for PokerStars to consolidate its alliance with a New Jersey land-based casino. This does not mean that PokerStars is out of the picture for good, since the Division of Gaming Enforcement has repeatedly stated that the licensing process is a dynamic one. But it does mean that PokerStars will come in very late (if at all) into the New Jersey online gaming market. It will also most likely not participate in the initial launch and testing phase on November 21st or the proper launch in November 26th.
There is still time for companies to wrap up the state’s requirements to participate and the Division of Gaming Enforcement will continue to grant approval to more companies. So far it looks like the initial offering for online gaming and online gambling services will be provided by these operators:
Poker and Casino
Borgata / bwin.party
Caesars / 888
Bally’s 888 All American Poker Network
Trump Taj Mahal / Ultimate
Casino only
Golden Nugget / Amaya
Tropicana / Gamesys
Trump Plaza / Betfair
