Gilbert Arenas, the three-time NBA all-star, is in the Bahamas trying his luck at the poker tables competing at the PokerStars Casribbean Adventure $10K Main Event in a bid to win the $10 million guaranteed prize. Arenas has been playing much poker lately and has been spotted playing high stakes ring games with such poker pros as Scott Seiver and Jason Mercier.
Gilbert Arenas is not the first NBA star to participate at major poker tournaments. Other high-caliber players like Jordan Farmar, Shawn Marion and Paul Pierce have participated at major events like the World Series of Poker. In 2013, the WSOP had invited Kobe Bryant to participate in the tournament in honor of recently deceased L.A. Lakers owner and poker professional player Jerry Buss. Bryant was forced to decline due to recovery from past injuries.
