Kentucky receives $6 million to settle legal dispute

Four years ago, Kentucky officials filed a lawsuit in order to seize 141 domain names allegedly related to illegal internet gambling.

The state’s governor, Steve Beshear, recently announced that online gambling sites PokerStars and Full Tilt acceded to pay $6.07 million to settle the dispute. However, such agreement won’t resolve the online poker and gambling issues taking place in the Congress or in the state’s council.

Beshear also added that funds will be deposit into the state’s General Fund and that the achievement has helped assure “our signature horse racing industry and legitimate charitable gaming interests.”
