The second starting day of the European Poker Tour in Barcelona has come to an end and we now know who is moving on to Day 2. Day 1A had a decent turn-out, but it wasn’t expected that day 1B would be so massive, having 1,010 players paying the €5,300 buy-in to compete for the title.

The total amount of entries was 1,485 spread over the two starting days and a massive 1,169 players are still battling it out later today at Day 2. Spanish Jose Lamarca Capa ended up as the chipleader of Day 1B, having 193,300 chips at the end of the day, with the closest to him being Marcelo Ramos Da Fonseca who has 176,000 chips.

Many of the top poker professionals from around the globe was also participating in Day 1B, with lots of Team Pokerstars Pros. Some did well and are still in the tournament, such as Theo Jorgensen, Jake Cody, Ivan Demidov, Matthias de Meulder and Marcin Horecki, while others didn’t do so well and busted out during the day, which was the case for George Danzer, Jason Mercier and Bertrand Grospellier.

Day 2 will begin at 12.00 CET and will feature the best players in the world. The EPT organizers are currently working hard to be able to accommodate all 1,000+ players on this second day of play and it will be interesting to see if there will be room enough in the location.
