International Poker Network Closing Its Doors May 28th

Share

The International Poker Network has finally released the date of their official closure according to 4Flush.com, which will be on May 28th. The poker network has also been known as Boss Media and has been run by GTECH since the start, with great success in the beginning but less towards the end. The closure will affect several well known brands such as Poker Heaven, Redbet and MermaidBet.

Some skins have already decided to remove their IPN client before the closure and move the traffic to other networks, while some sites has offered multiple networks for a period of time, knowing about the closure and wanted to make the transition easy for the players.

The reason for the closure of IPN is due to GTECH seeing that they cannot compete in the international markets and wanting to focus solely on the regulated markets within Europe. They provide poker platforms for Svenska Spel as well as Win2Day and also to the Spanish and Canadian market.

With a huge bad beat jackpot not being triggered by the players of the network, GTECH decided to split the prize pool into smaller pieces and host freerolls with up to €45,000 in prizes. All cash outs from the network are also guaranteed as well, allowing GTECH to show the world how a poker network should be closed down, without scamming the players that supported it for years.
