Full Tilt has been accused for focusing less and less on poker, with the integration of casino games and soon a sportsbook as well. Not anymore however, as the Rational Group who owns Full Tilt, announced today that they are the new sponsors of the 2015 International Poker Open.
Full Tilt has taken over the sponsorship from BoylePoker with immediate effect and will to begin with cover seven stops between May and November this year. Newcastle, London and Dublin are some of the destinations revealed so far, with more to be announced shortly.
"We're very happy to put the Full Tilt stamp on an already-successful tournament series. With affordable buy-ins and satellites, but big prize pools, we're giving players of all levels a great live poker tournament experience, whatever their bankroll. Last year's Dublin Main Event attracted over 1,600 entries for a €330,000 prize pool — our goal is to top those numbers by boosting online qualification.” Dominic Mansour, Managing Director at Full Tilt said in a press release.
"The International Poker Open Tour has gone from strength to strength. With Full Tilt behind us, we're confident that this year's tour will be bigger and better than ever.” Stephen McLean, IPO Tournament Director noted, hoping for the series to be bigger than ever.
The first event is coming soon, as the IPO is coming to Bray on May 22nd, which is located not far from Dublin. The main event there is a $250 main-event, with a semi-turbo structure for the first starting days and then smoothing out to a more regular poker tournament structure.
Players can even qualify for the events online, as Full Tilt already offers satellite tournaments to the events. You can qualify for $25 online, simply go to the satellites lobby in Full Tilt and find the event you want to qualify for.
