The 100th European Poker Tour in Barcelona is approaching rapidly, with just a little more than a month until the tournament series begins. Already now there has been 230 players qualifying to play in the event, which is close to last year's record qualification attendance of 378 players.
So far more than 30 players a week have been qualifying for the EPT in Barcelona, but with the World Cup and WSOP coming to an end shortly, Pokerstars believes that the numbers will increase significantly and that last year's record will be broken this year.
Pokerstars will be well represented at the event, as many players from their Team Pokerstars Pro and Team Online have qualified, including Mickey Petersen, Dominik Panka and Michael Tureniec. These players qualified through the many weekly satellites Pokerstars is hosting, having five main event satellites every Sunday.
“EPT100 is set to be the biggest EPT we have ever held in Europe. Barcelona is always a very popular destination and we broke our own records last season, however this season’s event looks set to attract more players than ever before. We’re now looking forward to welcoming thousands of players and their guests to next month’s festival.” President of the EPT, Edgar Stuchly said.
