Canadian poker player “a.urli” wins special edition Sunday Million for just shy of a million dollars

March 20th was all about the 10th anniversary of the prestigious Sunday Million on PokerStars. The 45,353 individual entries and 9,706 re-entries created a total prize pool of $11,011,800.00. In the end, a.urli managed to take home the biggest chunk of that price money, bagging $970,000 after a 4-way deal.

 

 

After a little over 13 hours of play, the final nine players were secured of at least $95,522.96, but everyone's eyes were on the massive first price of $1,061,417.37. After a long and tough final table, the final four players decided to look at the numbers and were able to make a deal after some negotiating.

 

 

After the deal was sealed, the four players played on for another $100,000 and the title. a.urli dominated all the way, and in heads-up play versus Hungarian “mladenova62” it only took him 18 hands to win the tournament. In the final hand, a.urli shoved from the button with Ts8s, got called by the pocket 4's of mladenova62 and managed to hit an 8.
