Pokerstars is well known as being the world’s biggest online poker site and it comes to show every year when they host their special tournament series such as SCOOP. This time it was time for the World Championship Of Online Poker, also known as WCOOP.

While WCOOP is always a special time for recreational players as well as the online tournament pros, this Sunday was even more special as Pokerstars were hosting the most expensive buy-in tournament ever online, as they held the $51,000 buy-in Super High Roller tournament.

The tournament lasted over two days, with the initial field playing on Sunday until they were down to eight players, who would then continue with the final table on Monday night. A total of 46 players paid the expensive entry fee to compete for a prize pool of $2,300,000 with an original $851,000 for first place.

Mike “Timex” McDonald was looking sharp in the tournament and went to the final day as a chipleader, a position he unfortunately couldn’t hold as he finished in 5th place for $172,500. Two players on the final table didn’t get to cash at all, as “cuffme” and “dpeters17” finished 8th and 7th just outside the prizes.

In the end it was Ben “Ben86” Tollerene who took down the tournament, after having made a deal three-way with Jose “Cejakas14” Angel Latorre and Nikita “fish2013” Bodyakovskiy. Tollerene took home $616,518.34 for his first place while Latorre got $560,412.13 for his second place and Bodyakovskiy got $594,069.53 for her 3rd place.
