Battle of Malta Expected to Attract Record Attendance

Pokerlistings is one of the world's leading poker affiliate site and has been so since the birth of online poker. A couple of years back they decided to try something new that no other affiliate had tried before - To host a live poker tournament with a big guaranteed prize pool in Malta.

The first year they saw a high attendance by Malta standards, having 320 players registering and playing their first tournament. But the following year was an even bigger success as they could see a massive 900 players participating in the event, many of which qualified through partners of Pokerlistings.

“We actually had to get more tables into the Casino Portomaso. We could probably cope with 1,400 eventually but if we go much over that it will cause logistical headaches. We would either have to add more days or more venues.” CEO of Pokerlistings, Martin Carlesund said to Times of Malta.

Pokerlistings has been able to grow their Battle of Malta poker tournament significantly through the unique branding skills they have shown, their great advertising but also due to their cooperation with some of the biggest poker rooms in the world, who hosted satellites that players could win and qualify for the tournament cheaply.

The tournament is a €550 buy-in tournament with €500,000 guaranteed in prizes and a massive €150,000 guaranteed for the winner. The tournament will take place at the Casino Portomaso on the 6th to the 9th of November this year and its expected that more than 1,000 players will play this year.
