It has been made official, BarrierePoker.fr will be shutting down on September 30th of the current year. The online poker room is the latest in a series of disappointing news and events related to harsh and expensive regulations by French authorities. Lucien Barriere, owner of the LB Poker group made public the fact that the company is facing financial woes and was not able to compete with other poker rooms because of the excessively restrictive nature and policies of the French gaming authority ARJEL. LB Poker's Q2 was a financial failure and the decision was taken to pull the plug. LB Poker has revealed it will remain in the igaming scene as a B2B digital developer. They also announced they had made some agreements with other companies, including Caesar's Interactive (owner of the WSOP brand). In this way the company remains hopeful it will not vanish but shift its business model to a business to business activity.
