A law known as the Interactive Gambling Act was passed in Australia in 2001 with the purpose of banning online gambling services. The legislation also prohibited any other nation to provide interactive gambling products to the country.

The law didn’t work the way it was meant to and now Australians have forgetten about the law and have reminded Apple to take them into consideration, as Apple’s app Store offers apps from PokerStars and 888 Poker, both of them allowing to play with real money. However, poker players claim that the apps are not available any more to the Australian market.
