Adelson relentless on fight against online gambling

The founder and CEO of the Las Vegas Sands corporation, Sheldon Adelson, has decided to take his fight against online gaming even further than before by giving financial aid and backing to a website clearly dedicated to lobby against the legalization of online gambling.

The website in question is “www.stopinternetgambling.com” which basically shares and repeats all of the ideas and comments Adelson has been so vocal about the last few weeks and portrait in an article on Forbes Magazine last month. In said article, Sheldon Adelson made some strong remarks against the legalization of online gambling and especially online poker.

He mentions “As an industry leader, and more importantly as a father, grandfather, citizen and patriot of this great country, I am adamantly opposed to the legalization and proliferation of online casino gaming. Whether it is full casino gaming, poker only, or anything in between – this is a societal train wreck waiting to happen.”

These comments were received with very strong voices of protest by the online poker community which accuse Adelson of being a hypocrit, considering he built his fortune on gambling and currently heads one of the more successful gambling enterprises in the world.
