Paul Michaelis has extended his lead on Day 3 of the 2017 PokerStars Championship Prague Main Event. As Day 3 came to close, Michaelis’ heads the leaderboard with 1.27 million in chips.
48 others join Michaelis in the pursuit of the title. A total of 140 players made starts in the tournament, with only 127 players getting a chance to take home the earnings. PokerStars Team Pro Fatima Moreira de Melo had an excellent day at the event. She took big strides on the leader board, climbing to 11th place with 723,000 in chips.
Paul Michaelis had a couple of missteps late in the night but managed to maintain a large distance ahead of the pack. At one point, he was looking good for over 1.5 million in chips. Michaelis is followed by Michal Mrakes with 1.032 million chips, Jason Wheeler with 931,000 chips, Navot Golan with 888,000 and Anatolii Zyrin with 825,000.
Serhil Popvych (812,000), Gavin O’Rourke (803,000), Assaf Ben Yosef (793,000), Alex Foxen (761,000) and Daniel Barriocanal, 740,000 are among others on the top-10 leader board.
The action resumes on Saturday in Prague wherein the remaining 49 players will battle for the €775,000 in prizes.
Earlier this week, the Canadian poker pro Timothy "Tim0thee" Adams won the PokerStars Championship Prague €50,000 Super High Roller to bag €555,000 prize money. He beat Mikita "fish2013" Badziakouski in the heads-up for the title.
