Wirex and SBI holding join hands to establish Japanese Crypto Payments Card

Wirex, the blockchain personal finance platform has joined hands with Japan’s FinTech investor SBI Holdings to launch a new joint venture-SBI Wirex Asia, focused on Asia. This new venture will deliver a Japanese cryptocurrency payment card and joint businesses.

Both the parties will work precisely to make sure Japanese customer benefit from this new venture. Wirex is determined to provide their expertise in blockchain technology, and cryptocurrencies whereas SBI will look after support, scale and Asian market relationships.

Wirex CEO, Pavel Matveev said that this new collaboration enables them to strengthen their position in the country to deliver new Japan and Asia focused products and services. Japanese customers use VISA-backed cryptocurrency debit card more regularly than anywhere else in the world. “They deserve a Yen-denominated card soon, and we will deliver it to them,” Mateev said.

On the other hand, Wirex Japan CEO Wataru Kojima said that the SBI partnership would provide Japanese customers much-improved choice and flexibility while dealing with cryptocurrency payments.
