The Founder of Kuna Bitcoin Agency and Kuna Cryptocurrency Exchange, Michael Chobanian, has announced that around 150 Bitcoin automated teller machines would be installed in Ukraine in 2017. The capital city, Kiev alone would have a total of 20-30 ATMs installed by the end of the summer.
The decision to install BTMs came after the constant demands by the Ukrainian entrepreneurs and requests from customers.
The customers would be able to buy cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ether, Waves, and Golos through these BTMs using the country’s official currency hryvnia, according to Chobanian. Chobanian further claimed that the BTMs would not require any user identification and could be utilised by any customer and anyone interested in doing BTM business would be able to do it without needing any license.
Currently, there is only one BTM in the country in southern Ukraine, installed in April. Although, about 4,000 street terminals are selling Bitcoin in the form of vouchers which can be redeemed for Bitcoin by the customers online.
