TigerDirect, one of the first online technology retailers to accept Bitcoin payments, have announced that they will begin to accept Bitcoin payment on their Canadian web shop TigerDirect.ca as well as on their mobile device friendly sites, CoinDesk.com reports today.
Back in January, TigerDirect announced that they would begin to accept Bitcoin payments for their goods, offering their customers the latest in payment methods. It seems to have been a success, as they now roll out Bitcoin payments on even more of their sites. According to TigerDirect, they have sold goods for more than $1 million through Bitcoin payments.
“The demand has remained constant with bitcoin purchasing on our TigerDirect.com site. The demand has not just been in products, it’s also been in social outreach. We’ve been in contact with our reddit community, and they’ve been asking us when this was going to be rolled out in Canada.”Steven Leeds, Marketing Director of TigerDirect.com told to CoinDesk. TigerDirect has chosen BitPay as their payments partner for the Canadian and mobile sites.
The fact that a noticeable merchant such as TigerDirect openly continues to support the Bitcoin, only provides more hope of more merchants integrating it as a payment method and that more and more people will begin to support the cryptocurrency.
