The Security Traders Association of New York (STANY) is hosting a conference in the short future and has put tickets for the conference on sale. To many people’s surprise, they are accepting Bitcoin payments for the tickets to the conference which has never been done before at a similar arrangement.
Furthermore Atlas ATS, which is a New York based cryptocurrency exchange site, announced that they will match the amount, up to $1,000, of tickets that has been sold through Bitcoin payments. This is to try and support a good cause as well as to try and get people to visit the exchange site and discover the benefits of the Bitcoin.
The transactions itself will not be handled by Atlas ATS, as they are simply an exchange site, but instead GoCoin will handle the transactions. GoCoin is one of the leading Bitcoin payments platforms in the world and they are very popular within the US.
“Part of STANY’s mission is to educate its members about new industry developments and opportunities. In addition to a panel discussion of cryptocurrencies, we thought we would encourage members to gain some first-hand experience using digital currency to pay for the event itself,” CEO of STANY Kim Unger.
