Malta, a small island nation is making a lot of news for varied reasons, for hosting Bitcoin meetup and then planning to legalise cryptocurrency wholesale.

With the blockchain technology growing at such a high pace, the recent news suggests that the country is still keen on the blockchain technology. The fact was confirmed after the news of the government formally announced a Blockchain Taskforce formation, which is expected to provide guidelines for the implementation of the National Blockchain Strategy.

The government expressed in a press release that they are not only going to “exploit the opportunities that the Blockchain technology offer” in various tasks, the government is also looking for ways to set up a regulated legal framework for the technology.

Despite China shunting on the cryptocurrency technology, other countries are seemingly taking an interest to go ahead and progress in the digital asset world. The Blockchain Taskforce would evaluate the proposals sent by the private companies and setups, to acquire government contracts for Blockchain implementations.
