Litecoin has hit the double jackpot with crossing two milestones at a time, passing $60 mark, at $64 and a $3 billion market cap for the first time. The digital currency prices have surged in 24 hours, reaching a new all-time high, after a month of sideways trading.
As per the Coinmarketcap data, the figures on Sunday have been the best performance that Litecoin has attained in its four-year history of trading volumes.
The market cap increased further to touch a $3.2 billion mark, with the prices across the exchanges averaging to around $61.50, slightly below its all-time high it reached on Sunday.
The founder of the altcoin was keen on celebrating the success, which comes as Bitcoin follows Litecoin in activating SegWit.
Litecoin has benefitted from the bullish sentiment, like many other altcoins this year. Over the span of 12 months the performance shows 1300 percent increase with rarely any rivalry, with single coin priced at around $3.75 in September 2016.
