BitPay has wanted to establish themselves as the world's leading and largest bitcoin payment services company, gaining more ground now with the recent money injection from Li Ka-shing. BitPay which is an atlanta based company, wants to be the bitcoin version of PayPal and hopes to have the crypto currency spread to more areas of the world with their help.
BitPay claims to have handled over $100 million worth of bitcoin transactions in 2013 alone, showing that they are growing massively and is a serious competitor to other large bitcoin payment service companies.
