Cryptocurrency and especially the Bitcoin is becoming a very popular way of paying within the American colleges and universities and one of the latest schools to take advantage of that is Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech announced today that they have integrated Bitcoin payments for different shops around campus as well as in their Bobby Dodd football stadium, allowing students and visitors to pay for their goods with the virtual currency.
“We look forward to working with BitPay to make bitcoin a viable payment option for our students and fans,” Mike Bobinski, Athletic Director of Georgia Tech said in a press release.
“At Georgia Tech, we are always looking to lead in innovative ways, and this partnership with BitPay gives us an opportunity to do so by integrating this new technology at a sports venue and in the daily lives of our students.” He added.
The integration has been completed, which means that everyone can now pay with Bitcoins should they understand the concept of it and hold any coins.
