American football is without a doubt the most popular sport in the states and especially in college it is huge, not only for the players but also for the community around the college. So what would be a better way to inform people about a cryptocurrency, than to sponsor a title in a popular college football bowl match?
That’s what BitPay, the world’s leading Bitcoin payment system provider, has done, as they have decided to sponsor the annual college football postseason game that is played in St. Petersburg, which starts this year with the match on December 26th, which will be known as the Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl.
“Our goal is to continue to move bitcoin into the mainstream and sponsoring the St. Petersburg Bowl offers us that opportunity,” said Tony Gallippi, Executive Chairman for BitPay and added “College football fans and the bitcoin community represent a similar target demographic – tech-savvy men between the ages of 18 and 40.”
BitPay will also ensure that it will be possible to buy tickets for the match with Bitcoins, through their services. This will hopefully attract a new crowd towards the all American sport.
