BitPay Launches One Tap Bitcoin Payment Application

Share

BitPay, the leading Bitcoin payment solutions provider, announced today that they have released a brand new One Tap Bitcoin Checkout application on the Money2020 conference in Las Vegas. The new point-of-sale application is available in 40 different languages and includes tipping, tip report and multi-employee checkout functionalities.

For now the application has only been released for Android, but it will soon be available on iOS platforms, as Apple removed their cryptocurrency application restrictions earlier this year.

The application will allow consumers and customers to use their mobile phones to receive Bitcoin payment instructions, making it much easier for everyone to accept and pay with Bitcoins. The new system is allegedly easier than scanning a QR code and will have the functionality to verify payment requests before actually sending the Bitcoins.

“For retailers, accepting mobile payments is a growing trend, but none of today’s industry offerings can provide a lower risk or lower cost than swiping a credit card. Accepting bitcoin can offer tremendous savings to merchants, especially merchants with a large international customer base, and BitPay’s service combined with the new mobile app is a fantastic value for merchants.” Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of BitPay, Tony Gallippi said to TechCrunch.com.
