The leading online Bitcoin payment processor Bitpay announced today that they have hired Tim Byun as their Chief Compliance Officer, starting immediately. Byun has been working for VISA as their Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing Officer for several years and also worked for the Federal Reserves as Examining Manager, so it’s a guy with experience that has come on board.
“As the bitcoin industry continues to grow, BitPay wants to ensure that our policies and procedures fall in line with various state, federal and international regulations. For this reason, we hired Tim to set up and maintain our compliance structure,” Tony Gallippi, CEO of BitPay said in a press release.
Byun will help ensuring that BitPay at all times lives up to the rules and regulations put upon them in the states as well as in other countries, so BitPay can operate completely legal at all times and continue to expand their business into new industries.
BitPay also announced that they hired a new General Counselor/Compliance Manager, where their choice landed on Anjali Kamath. Kamath has experience as Compliance Manager from ClearPoint as well as from Lindner’s Capital Advisors Inc. With these two new experienced employees on board, the road to success seems open for BitPay, who have already established themselves as the go-to company when a business wishes to accept Bitcoin payments.
