Bitcoin Now Accepted in Vegas Casinos

This week becomes a landmark in the Las Vegas history since customers will now be able to use the cryptocurrency Bitcoin to pay for anything, ranging from accomodations to food and alcohol at two fo the city’s casinos.

The Golden Gate, Las Vegas’ oldest casino, and the D Casino are now accepting Bitcoins as payment currency at the hotels’ frontdesks. Bitcoins will also be accepted the casinos restaurants and gift shops. As for the gambling area, only US Dollars are accepted.

According to co-founder of both casinos, Derek Stevens, “We have been intrigued by Bitcoin for years and had talked with patrons who wondered if the casinos would use it. It’s tough to forecast how many patrons will pay for dinners and souvenirs with Bitcoin, but soon other casinos will adopt the currency. For us, it’s going to be somewhat exciting to see what kind of impact it’ll have”.
