Another Californian Impractical Bitcoin Regulation BitLicense Again Opposed by the EFF

The leading non-profit organisation defending civil liberties in the digital world, the EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation), is opposing the California Bitcoin regulation.

In 2015 the EFF opposed another Bitcoin regulatory framework, known as the Californian BitLicense. In an article called “A License to Kill Innovation” – the California’s Bitcoin License, they stated that it would negatively impact innovation, privacy and business in general.

This opposition resulted in the regulation being denied and lawmakers in California conceded that the hurdles that would be imposed would seriously have negative effects on the cryptocurrency industry. This year, a submission of a new BitLicense has occurred again, portraying the same requirements as the previous proposals and again the EFF has stated this it will oppose this and imminently take action.
