Younger people take over old fashioned casinos

Coin-operated slot machines, gray-haired gamblers and a busload of senior citizens are no longer Atlantic City’s (or any other casino) reputation or marketing target.

The casino industry has been dramatically reshaped, taken over by young customers. According to the American Gaming Association, the visiting rate to casinos is the highest among people between 21 and 35 years old.

Holly Wetzel, AGA’s vicepresident of communications, said that this shift to a much younger market represents the way people see casinos nowadays. “The gambling industry has been transformed into more of an entertainment industry, giving younger people more to do when they visit casinos” she added.
