The Poarch Band of Creek Indians and their Wind Creek Hospitality operations responsible for gambling are planning a casino in D’Iberville. The tribe has gained a new plot of land and has already laid out a preliminary sketch of the project.

According to a report in the Sun Herald, Wind Creek Hospitality is the owner of the Royal D’Iberville plot located west of Interstate 110. In addition, they have acquired 34 more acres into Back Bay and now have two legal casino sites in the area.

CEO Jay Dorris comments that the new casino is going to offer added value to the market and represent the quality embodied by Wind Creek Hospitality. Furthermore, she believes the establishment will spur economic growth in the area.

Wind Creek Hospitality runs three casinos in Alabama. The tribe’s gambling division also has a majority stake in greyhound tracks in Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida.
