UKGC Seeks Casino Operators To Update Their Information Security Protocols

The UK Gambling Commission, UKGC, the main regulatory body has asked the casinos operating in the area and offering their services to the UK players to adapt their information security protocols with ISO 27001 standards if they wish to keep their licences and continue operations in one of the most lucrative casino markets in the world.

The UKGC said it intends at creating a safer environment for the players by ensuring better protection of their sensitive information.

The new protocols will see to it that the operators are well prepared for any incident in case of security breaches. To ensure timely response to limit the potential damage, adequate communication channels would be in place.

Apart from the added security measures, UKGC has also included provisions to deal with the transparency. This would allow the players to have an access to their playing history as to keep a track of their winning, withdrawals, wagers, etc.
