Just before this year comes to an end, The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Tribe will open a massive casino resort in Rohnert Park, California. Seeking to minimize competition in northern California, it will become the closest casino to San Francisco with dining and live entertainment.
For years, the tribe has been working alongside with Station Casinos for Las Vegas in order to obtain all the necessary permissions for its location. As partners, they have had to face numerous problems including the opposition from several anti-gaming groups.
By the seventh year, the project is said to accomplish around $420 million in anual gaming revenue, paying the Sonoma County yearly payments of $9 million.
