Spain’s gambling revenues for Q3 of last year might reflect the high unemployment figures of 2012. The last quarter of 2012 however did show an increase in profits compared to the very low numbers from the previous quarter. The 41% increase includes also an increase of 21% in online tournaments and online wagering up 17% up to €17 million. The wagering industry was regulated with changes affecting operators who now have to pay 25% taxes and limit stakes to €10. Players also have to pay higher taxes on online winnings.
