Shooting in downtown Reno on Thursday morning has resulted in one death, according to information from police authorities.
The press release further states that officers followed up on a robbery-related call and responded to the area of West Street and West Commercial Row at around 10:40 AM. There they saw the suspect carrying a weapon and chased him on foot to the Eldorado Casino where the shooting occurred after a brief confrontation. The criminal was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officer Ken Gallop, spokesman for the Sparks Police Department, said that neither members of the police forces nor civilians were injured. He commented that no further information could be disclosed at this stage apart from the fact that at least two officers were involved in the pursuit.
The Sparks Police Department will be in charge of the investigation. Witnesses are being interrogated for further details around the shooting.
Part of the second floor of the Eldorado Casino was closed on Thursday.
