Reward In Casino Queen Robbery Raised To $26,000

In an armed robbery on Sunday, which left the security guard injured with the bullet shot wounds at the Casino Queen, the CrimeStoppers and the casino are offering a reward of around $26,000 to find the suspects.

Police are investigating the matter, but so far no arrests have been made in the case. The amount of cash the three suspected robbers have fled off with, is yet unknown.

The three robbers barged into the casino, wearing masks, short the guard before emptying the cash registers and fled the scene at 3 a.m. on Sunday. According to the police, several shots were fired, within a range of 50 metres from the customers, but no one was hurt.

The unarmed security guard was left injured in the incident and remained in Intensive care till Thursday. The security guard also happens to be a New Athens volunteer fire captain.

The police have released photos of the robbery incident. The suspects left in a dark coloured car, which was reported stolen from St. Louis, Doiron. The initial reward offered by CrimeStoppers was the usual $1,000 which has now gone to $26,000.
