Rational Groups subsidiary in Spain, Reel Spain, has been approved provisional licenses in Spain, allowing Full Tilt Poker and Pokerstars to offer casino games in the regulated market, GamingIntelligence.com reports today. The license means that they will now have the ability to offer blackjack and roulette products to their Spanish customers in the regulated .Es sites.
Rational Group submitted their applications earlier this year in March and was approved to do so last week, La Direccion General de Ordenacion, Spain’s gambling regulator told to GamingIntelligence. This means that Rational Group, hereunder Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker, will be allowed to launch casino games in regulated markets, which is the first time they are able to do so.
While the licensing agreement allows both Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker to offer casino games to their Spanish users, it is most likely that it will only be offered to customers on Full Tilt Poker, as Pokerstars has not been offering casino games to their players and Rational Group hasn’t made any indications that that would change.
Rational Group and all its subsidiaries was recently acquired by Amaya Gaming in one of the biggest deals ever in online gaming history, being acquired for a massive $4.9 billion. The company has been working on expanding their product portfolio for the past year and now it seems they are finally moving into regulated markets.
