It comes as a surprise that the Queens Casino, NY has been fined for three times now of a total of $3,975 for violating the fire codes. The violations involve various minor civil infractions including outdated alarm systems, no signs for crowd capacity indicated etc.
The multi-billion dollar establishment instead of settling the low levels violation rather prefers a riskier approach. On being summoned, the casino lawyers made baseless arguments about it being a part of state and hence it was not subjected to FDNY regulations.
All these cases have individually been taken to the City’s office of Administrative Trials & Hearings- where the panel decided the arguments made by casino were faulty.
